Last year at this time, our backyard resembled a construction site; patches of dirt shared with an occasional dandelion or rock, a stump where a crabapple tree once stood, weeds that had overrun former flower beds. Our front lawn didn’t look much better. Its grass was tired, the shrubs unsightly…ours was certainly not the envy of the neighborhood!

 Enter Mark Lally, and within no time Mark transformed our outdoor space into a beautiful, tranquil flowering oasis of grass, stone, trees, shrubs and perennials. Our property was seriously churned up when we had an addition built onto our house; the garden areas had to be reconsidered, reconstructed or moved. Mark sees the big picture - he started by sitting in the space to observe the contours and the light. In one area, he reconstructed our bluestone patio in a new location, creating a cozy corner and making use of large stones that he  selected, brought in and artfully placed to enhance the patio and  nearby flower garden. We enjoyed working with Mark; he listens to  your preferences and provides ideas and solutions to discuss and then executes them with experience.

We hired Millstone Landscape to fix our tired front foundation plantings.  Some shrubs were overgrown, others dead, and some just out of place.  Mark suggested keeping many of the shrubs, reshaping and transplanting them as needed.  some new shrubs and a tree were added and the front of our house looked beautiful.  In a couple of days our landscape had a "new" look, but also looked mature and complete.  We were very pleased and impressed with the outcome!
